| When Jesus was ministering in Galilee, he showed great concern
for the sick and the dying. In Most Holy Trinity Parish, we show similar
concern. In collaboration with six other Roman Catholic parishes, Most Holy
Trinity provides a full time chaplain for Southern Maine Medical Center
five days each week. In addition, there is a Catholic Priest from one of
the area parishes on call seven days a week to celebrate the sacrament of
the sick. Communion ministers distribute the Eucharist to Catholic
hospital patients each Sunday. If you know someone who needs to be visited
by one of our team members, please call the Parish, and leave a message
for Fr. Pat.
The Parish team also visits area nursing homes and adult day care centers on a regular basis. During these visits team members celebrate Mass or a Communion Service and visit individual parishioners. Several parishioners also bring the Eucharist to parishioners who are home bound. They do this either immediately after Sunday Mass or some time during the week. Parishteam members visits the homebound on a need basis. More frequent visits are possible for those who are gravely ill. In addition, at least once a year there is a communal celebration of the sacrament of the sick. Finally, when possible, a member of the Parish team will visit parishioners who are hospitalized outside of the immediate area. The team depends upon family or friends to inform the team of patients who are hospitalized. Please call anytime - (207) 282-3321. |
