MOST HOLY TRINITY PARISH

Christ is the reason for our program. He is the unseen but ever present teacher in all our classes. He is the model for all our volunteers and the inspiration of our students. Author Unknown

Children’s Liturgy of the Word is offered at the 8:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Masses on Sundays. These gatherings are a wonderful opportunity for children to hear, reflect, and respond to the Sunday Gospel in ways appropriate to their level of understanding.

“Let the children come to Me:” For babies and preschoolers through five years of age and their parents (or caregivers) a morning program is offered on Wednesdays from
9:30 a.m.-11:00 a.m. This “Pray and Play” early childhood Religion program consists of prayer, bible stories, crafts, song, play time, snack, and fellowship.

Pre-kindergarteners and Kindergarteners meet the first three Sundays of each month from 9:30-10:20 a.m. for a worship experience appropriate for three, four and five year olds. This exciting lectionary based program includes bible stories, crafts, play time and song. Kindergarteners also have the option of enrolling in our Thursday after school session.

First through Fifth Grade Faith Formation Classes are offered on the first three Sundays of the month from 9:30 a.m. to 10:20 a.m., and weekly on Thursdays after school from 3:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Our program strives to help build Households of Faith while offering a well-balanced spiral curriculum where students journey together learning about Jesus and the Church. Service learning, intergenerational activities, and student led prayer opportunities are an integral part of the program.

Family Study is available to students and their parents. This option requires parents and children to complete activities at home on a weekly basis, and to gather monthly with others in the program.

Junior High and Senior High Youth Ministry is an evening program for sixth, seventh and eighth graders, and high school students. These programs strive to help young people connect the Gospel message to their lives, while involving them in reaching out to those in need. Opportunities are provided for pre-teens and teens to participate in the life of the Parish. Special social gatherings and Masses are offered for both age groups to help develop a greater sense of Jesus Christ alive in their lives. Junior High Youth Ministry meets Tuesday evenings from 7:00-8:00 p.m. in the Parish Hall of Most Holy Trinity, and Senior High Youth Ministry gathers Sunday evenings at 7:00p.m. at Saint Joseph Church. Youth Ministry is done collaboratively with the Biddeford Catholic Community and our Parish.

Sacramental Preparation Classes are offered, beginning in second grade, for children and their families who are going to make their First Holy Communion, Confirmation and Reconciliation. Children enrolled in this program participate in weekly faith formation classes, and gather for special Family Sessions and Retreats to learn about these Sacraments. A separate calendar is provided for these elementary students.

RCIC-Rite of Christian Initiation for Children ages seven to sixteen is provided for students who would like to be baptized, and/or have not completed faith formation classes to receive their First Communion, Confirmation and Reconciliation. Rich in Scripture, and our Catholic traditions and beliefs, details about this program and RCIA, The Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults, are available by contacting the Parish Team.

SPRED (Symbolic Program of Religious Education for Persons with Disabilities)
welcomes individuals of all ages with disabilities to be an accepted and visible part of our community. Catechists work one on one providing opportunities for their friends to grow spiritually, and to form friendships using a symbolic approach to catechesis.

Whole Community Catechesis includes intergenerational faith formation events where youngsters, teens, parents, and adult members of the Most Holy Trinity Community of Believers gather periodically to share and participate in meaningful prayer and community building activities. Realizing our faith journey has no end, this coming together as Church, allows God’s children’s of all ages to share their faith stories and grow in his likeness and love while deepening one’s faith, wherever one may be.

Adult Faith Formation opportunities such as Small Christian Communities, retreats, workshops, and book discussions are offered throughout the year.

This women’s spirituality group offers a varied format for the young mom, mothers of elementary-aged youngsters, moms of teens, moms experiencing the ‘empty nest syndrome,’ and even grandmothers. This faith-sharing group provides learning, laughter and support. Different topics are offered throughout the year. The group currently meets Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m.

Guardian Angel Program consists of trained caring adults who enjoy the company of small children. Adults volunteer an hour a week, or during special events to provide childcare in a group setting with other caregivers while parents participate in various ministries.
